Acqua for Life

Whilst I was out shopping with my good friend Nikki, I picked up a little brochure about Acqua for Life, which is sponsored by one of my favourite brands Giorgio Armani. Since I have been learning about Sustainable Design, ethical products have definitely appealed to me a lot more, and it's great to see that my favourite perfume, Aqua Di Gio is being sold for an ethical cause - the right to clean water. I recommend you join the Acqua for Life movement, and check out Green Cross, who are also on board for this worthy cause.

Politecnico Di Milano

I attended the guest lecture at my college from Professor Davide Fassi and Giulia Simeone from Politecnico Di Milano for an amazing opportunity to study at the esteemed college! The lecture was very interesting, especially Professor Fassi's presentation on changing urban spaces, especially in Europe. I know my blog is about fashion, but I love architectural design and it is one of my goals in life to visit Berlin purely for the wondrous architectural beauty which the city is known for. I just wanted to say how excited I am to be able to go to Milan, one of the world's fashion capitals, to study my passion in life. I think I went a step ahead though, I'll have to start saving up first haha!

The Annex presents Chronicles of Never AW12

I'm so happy that I got an invite to the in-store launch at The Annex for Chronicles of Never's new collection this Thursday! What I'm excited about is the fact that the designer himself, Gareth Moody, will be there with us all to celebrate his designs coming to life! I will see if I can take snaps and will share them with you if I can!

Bizarre Bazaar Twilight Markets - March

Every month A Series of Fortunate Events host Bizarre Bazaar - an opportunity for people to see and keep some of Sydney's emerging fashion designers! Recently, "guerrilla" fashion shows and famous Sydney singers and bands have brought the markets to the public's eye, and adds to the vibrant and fun atmosphere of the markets!

I took some shots at the most recent Bizarre Bazaar on the 15th of March, along with my friend Bec aka Revka (check out her photography here). The show took on a rebellious but glamorous feel with a diva's look, with garments and accessories from across the market! The one and only Paulini from Australian Idol performed Fireman and We Found Love to get the people in the mood to party and shop, two of my favourite pleasures in life haha!

After Paulini performed, the models and her left the markets in red hot style in a party firebus!
I recommend you and your friends and family come to the Bizarre Bazaar markets every month in Sussex Lane for a night of shopping and a few drinks!
I'll be there taking shots so feel free to come up to me for a photo!

Sustainable Style

I've recently just finished reading Shaping Sustainable Fashion by Alison Gwilt and Timo Rissanen, and is a read I'd definitely recommend to anyone in the fashion industry. The book is separated into chapters which explain how sustianable and eco-friendly practices can be incorporated into the fashion design process, and has profiles on many sustainable and eco-friendly fashion labels, including the one and only Maison Martin Margiela! From reading this I have learned how to be more sustainable on my part as a fashion consumer, with the wonderful ideas and real life stories of people in the fashion industry slowing down fashion, refashioning garments, and even "upcycling" garments they had no use for anymore. Since I am also studying Sustainable Design this term, this book has helped me, and the combination of what I learn in class and what I have learnt from this book, I will definitely be more aware of what my actions can impact on the environment and society as a whole. Oh and don't mind the Jean Paul Gaultier "Le Male" card, it's just a bookmark!

Harrolds Lookbook Fall/Winter 2012

I recently received the Harrolds Lookbook in the mail and I absolutely love it! Harrolds has always been my destination for my favourite designer labels such as Comme Des Garcons, Rick Owens, Givenchy, Tom Ford and Yves Saint Laurent. The styling and the photography symbolizes the timeless gentlemen in his fashionable glory, and I have only uploaded my favourite looks for you to see. There is no doubt I will be visiting the Sydney store soon to scout out some of these looks.

Achromatic Attitude

Vintage Prada sunglasses, Elite watch, Versace x H&M shirt

I was so happy when I finally got my Versace x H&M shirt that I ordered, I loathe the fact that there isn't a H&M store here in Sydney! I couldn't help but wear it the day after, and the quality of the shirt is amazing. The softness of the cotton didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all during the odd weather conditions, and I can wear it with a ot of my garments. It was well worth the money and wait!
