Earlier this week, New York's luxury leatherware label, Coach, collaborated with men's magazine GQ Australia, to host a night dedicated to bringing in their latest menswear collection. On Tuesday eve, the historical Queen Victoria Building boutique played host to the launch event, attracting many fashion devotees from around town.
The collection features minimal logo embellished leather ware that is retrospective in aesthetic. The focus in the menswear collection is minimalism, bordering on the edge of Bauhaus and Post-Modern. Cleverly panelled stripes are present amongst some of the technological accessories, whilst the contrasting earthy colours and pops of brights of the wallets abring life to the collection.’
According
to Wayne from GQ, key styles for this Autumn/Winter include bright and dark
hues of orange, tartan, mismatching patterns and tones, and sports luxe, all of
which are straight from the European menswear shows and collections. The more
daring looks included Mountaineering parkas and puffer vests, grunge as
inspired by Saint Laurent Paris's Hedi Slimane's revival of the rebellious
movement and Neo-Futurism reflecting the trend that Dior Homme has put in
motion with their latest collection.
The essential men’s styling tips for
these chilly months left us much more educated in how to be a much more dapper
version of ourselves during the Winter season.
