The Toons at New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week is nearly over but there's no stopping our favourite '90s cartoon characters making an appearance! Swagger New York and fashion designer, Michele Moricci, have collaborated to bring our much-loved toons to the fashion scene, and all in renowned fashion labels. Daria wears Prabal Gurung, reflecting her statement nonchalance, Beavis & Butthead don the outrageous Jeremy Scott, Captain Planet channels the sports-luxe trend in Hood by Air, Lisa Simpson looks daintily sexy in Marc Jacobs and Sailor Moon backs up her iconic cuteness in the classically sophisticated Rodarte. There's no doubt these characters could definitely stand out on the streets of New York!

There can never be enough fashion collaborations, and Adidas has taken the slate!

First off, the rising King of Fashion, Raf Simons, has released his collaborative line of sneakers with Adidas (available at Hypebeast). The wide array of choices of these runners are all homages to the sports luxe look which Raf Simons has come to popularise within menswear in recent years. The shoes are a mix of athletic function and street fashion - the comfortability and vibrancy of the space-age inspired kicks quite clear.

Next, the upcoming Jeremy Scott and A$AP Rocky sneaker line for Adidas. Now, the only preview of this highly anticipated collection, especially amongst followers of the high fashion hip hop scene, is the poster below. Take from it what you will, but there's no doubt Jeremy Scott's infamous winged Adidas sneakers are gonna be making an appearance. Watch this space for more in the coming weeks...

Day 7 - New York Fashion Week

Oriental traditional prints and modern geometric emblazoning were seen throughout hew Fall Winter collection for Proenza Schouler, and to me goes hand in hand with the fashion industry's current trend of using beautiful and handsome Asian models in their runway shows. The intricate detail of the prints, along with the layering of thick neoprene like garments combine to create a collection which embodies the mysteries of Asian culture, both past and present.

Jeremy Scott is the fashion industry's King of Eccentrics, and this collection has no doubt proved that point once more. I choose to look at the garments individually and how they can fit into one's style, and there is no doubt some pieces can be statement street wear, such as the pink metallic jacket, the metallic tie dye dress, the men's shoes and the striped dress, all displayed above. Jeremy Scott can certainly bring a sense of fun and humour into one's wardrobe.
