Bizarre Bazaar: Blogger's Choice

I'm Expensive Wool Dress by Laurel & Hector Vintage, Gold Crest Pendant Necklace by Chosen By, Editors Blazer by Mink Pink
For this month's Bizarre Bazaar campaign, fashion photographer Rebecca Cook, or rather Revka, captured the duality of Gemini-esque twins in looks featuring both timeless and modern day sophisticated pieces. The photo above looks at peoples' ability to emulate high fashion, and knowing that the models are twins adds to the effect. The Editors Blazer by Mink Pink reminds me of a classic Chanel blazer, with the metallic reminiscent of the label's most recent collections, and the Gold Crest Pendant by Chosen By adds that extra bit of Versace to the outfit.

This photo really captures the relationship between the wearer, the garments and the environment. Once again, the main piece of the outfit is the Editors Blazer by Mink Pink, standing out against the withered landscape and allowing the piece to stand alone on the wearer as a statement and bring the whole outfit together.

Romantic sophistication lays in harmony with fashion's inner animal in this beautiful campaign photo. The twin on the left represents timeless class, especially with the Rock n Roll hand painted leather gloves by Grimm Noir and the fur vest. Even though the twin on the right is a symbol of the more rebellious fashion stream - note the African Print Suit by Achea-Mpong by Mutesi Designs, the Spike earring by Grimm Noir and Black Lace Halter Neck by Magical Wonderland, the two form a yin and yang of fashion.

One of the campaign's final photographs (above) encapsulate the overall atmosphere of the coming Bizarre Bazaar event - "Sophisticated Rebellion". The Fur/Leather Jacket by Laksmono is very Rock n Roll, whilst the Mocking Bird '70s dress and the Good Girls Gone Bad Lace Mini by Laurel & Hector Vintage add timeless glamour.

Bizarre Bazaar Twilight Markets - March

Every month A Series of Fortunate Events host Bizarre Bazaar - an opportunity for people to see and keep some of Sydney's emerging fashion designers! Recently, "guerrilla" fashion shows and famous Sydney singers and bands have brought the markets to the public's eye, and adds to the vibrant and fun atmosphere of the markets!

I took some shots at the most recent Bizarre Bazaar on the 15th of March, along with my friend Bec aka Revka (check out her photography here). The show took on a rebellious but glamorous feel with a diva's look, with garments and accessories from across the market! The one and only Paulini from Australian Idol performed Fireman and We Found Love to get the people in the mood to party and shop, two of my favourite pleasures in life haha!

After Paulini performed, the models and her left the markets in red hot style in a party firebus!
I recommend you and your friends and family come to the Bizarre Bazaar markets every month in Sussex Lane for a night of shopping and a few drinks!
I'll be there taking shots so feel free to come up to me for a photo!
